Boston Bruins face Tampa Bay Lightning in 2026 NHL Stadium Series

VOL 27 ISSUE 7, Feb. 16, 2026

The Boston Bruins, owned by Delaware North Chairman Jeremy Jacobs, on Feb. 1 faced off against the Tampa Bay Lightning as part of the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series.

The marquee event marked the Bruins’ sixth regular-season outdoor game and first Stadium Series appearance. Held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it was the first time in NHL history that an outdoor game was played in a football stadium in Florida.

The action-packed game, ending in a 6-5 loss for the Bruins, became the most-viewed NHL regular season game since January 2019, averaging 2.1 million viewers.

The Bruins continued the long-standing tradition of wearing themed outfits for arrivals to the Stadium Series, drawing inspiration from Boston’s history and dressing in Revolution-era soldier attire, complete with topcoats, breeches, knee-high socks and tri-corner hats.

“We wanted something to have a bit of the history in Boston. Kind of represent our city’s culture and city’s history,” Bruins Defenseman Nikita Zadorov said. “We are going to the football stadium, and our football team is named the Patriots. If I’m not mistaken, during the Patriots game, they have people who dress up like that as well. I think that was a cool kind of idea to have something like that.”
