Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite named ‘Best Resort for Pets’

Delaware North-owned-and-operated Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite was recently named the Best Resort for Pets by Sunset magazine, the premier guide to living in the Western United States.

Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite – located just outside Yosemite National Park – is one of 30 winners of the first-ever Sunset Travel Awards, which honor the West’s top destinations in lodging, dining, cultural tourism, outdoor adventure, environmental stewardship, and more.

Along with all the winners of the 2015 Sunset Travel Awards, Tenaya Lodge is currently featured in the pet-friendly_tenayaresize-5305791June issue of Sunset magazine and on Sunset.com, reaching 6 million readers per month.

“This destination represents an unparalleled experience for any Western traveler,” the magazine’s editorial team said. “To be a finalist for a Sunset Travel Award puts you in extremely good company; to be a winner puts you among a group of elite, A-list destinations and experiences.”

The 302-room, Four Diamond resort has designated guest rooms that welcome dogs with its Deluxe Pampered Pet Package, as well as an onsite kennel and plenty of outdoor space for furry friends to roam.

Available year-round, the package includes a one-night stay, a dog toy, water bowl, plush dog bed, treats, disposable mitts, concierge sheet with tips for navigating the area with pets, two hours of pet-sitting service and a gourmet dog biscuit – baked by Tenaya Lodge’s chefs with a take-home recipe.

When not exploring with four-legged family members, guests can enjoy five seasonal restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, the Double Silver LEED?certified Ascent Spa and a variety of onsite and partner activities, including guided flashlight hikes, archery, horseback riding and watersports
