Tenaya at Yosemite debuts remodeled rooms and new guest amenities

Tenaya at Yosemite, Delaware North’s full-service resort located just outside of Yosemite National Park in California, on July 31 announced the completion of a 244- room remodel in its main lodge and new guest amenities.

Design inspiration for the guest rooms came from the Arts and Crafts Movement of the 1900s, reimagining the era’s timeless charm with modern touches, emphasizing warm wood tones with a palette of soothing, earthy colors to create a tranquil haven for guests. Elegant furnishings and soft textures echo the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains, while handcrafted details and understated patterns lend a distinguished nod to the movement’s exquisite design philosophy.

Custom upgrades to each lodge room’s headboards, nightstands, desks, luggage bench and acoustical TV wall panels were designed by Allen & Philip Partners and built by Samuel Lawrence Hospitality. These new case good furnishings are complemented by Kellex Seating desk chairs, ottomans and sleeper sofas, as well as new lounge chairs by Kovet Hospitality and dining chairs by Sandler Seating.

Tenaya at Yosemite’s lobby and concierge area were also remodeled to seamlessly bridge the new design elements of guest rooms throughout the property.

The resort unveiled new guest amenities – including a pickleball court, a bocce ball court, an 18-foot rock-climbing wall with Sierra Nevada Mountain views and a dedicated canine play area to expand Tenaya’s dog-friendly services.

Among the onsite additions, Tenaya has increased the number of shuttles into the park to complement its Yosemite 360 all-day tours, which take guests directly into the heart of Yosemite for convenient access to the park’s iconic sights and hikes.

“The experience at Tenaya at Yosemite offers guests an escape from the ordinary, and it was important that we carry that overall experience through to our room design and services,” said Brett Archer, general manager for Delaware North at Tenaya. “We have taken our guests’ needs into account through the redesign and expanded our onsite offerings with the overall goal of providing seamless service and a simplified stay, allowing guests to further enjoy exploring the resort and park.”

The unveiling of the remodeled rooms and new amenities garnered media attention with travel industry publications Hotel Executive, Skift’s Daily Lodging Report and Hotel Magazine.

Tenaya at Yosemite also features the Cottages at Tenaya (53 cottages), Explorer Cabins at Tenaya (50 cabins that opened in 2019), Ascent Spa, which was refreshed in 2022, indoor and outdoor pools and several dining options, including Jackalopes Bar & Grill, Embers restaurant and the Timberloft pizzeria.
