TD Garden’s philanthropic arm, Garden Neighborhood Charities, has teamed up with The Salvation Army Massachusetts Division and the City of Boston for the past seven years to host the school season “home opener” for 4,000 Boston-area students and their families. Along with support from the Boston Bruins Foundation, Garden Neighborhood Charities has donated 28,000 backpacks and more than $320,000.
This year, Garden Neighborhood Charities, led by TD Garden president Amy Latimer, participated in a “Back To School Buckets Challenge” to raise $10,000 to support bringing an online STEM program to select middle schools in the Boston Public School System.
This donation will bring digital courses to four middle schools and provide students with the critical skills needed to be successful. Garden Neighborhood Charities and its partners are committed to equipping students with all they need to be successful this year and well into the future.
