Proceeds from new winter white ale will support ‘Blizzard Boxes’
Nothing captures the spirit of Buffalo better than local organizations joining forces to support their community.
This winter, travelers passing through Buffalo Niagara International Airport can enjoy a special treat: Snow Problemo Winter Ale, a new winter white ale created by Delaware North in partnership with Resurgence Brewing Company. Available exclusively at the Buffalo airport, this seasonal brew will benefit FeedMore WNY, helping to provide essential meals to those in need.
“We brewed this beer to be smooth, fruity and fun. It’s a pour that’s sure to brighten up any traveler’s day, despite any snowy delay in our city of good neighbors,” said Jeff Ware, president of Resurgence Brewing Company.
Available from Nov. 25, 2024, through March 20, 2025 (or while supplies last), Snow Problemo can be enjoyed on draught at several airport locations, including Anchor Bar, Queen City Kitchen, Blue Zone and The Market on Elmwood. A portion of proceeds from every pint will support FeedMore WNY’s Blizzard Boxes program.
“As Western New Yorkers, we have to embrace the snow and have some fun with it,” said Joe Schratz, onsite general manager for Delaware North, which operates food, beverage and retail services at the airport. “The weather is predictably unpredictable – but the one thing we know for sure is that we can provide great hospitality and be a good community partner.”
Blizzard Boxes are shelf-stable meal kits assembled and distributed by FeedMore WNY to homebound clients. These emergency supplies are delivered to at-risk participants and area police stations, ensuring those in need can still access food when severe weather disrupts normal delivery services.
Delaware North has a long history of supporting FeedMore WNY to combat hunger and raise awareness about food insecurity in the region.
“FeedMore WNY is committed to serving our Western New York neighbors, including and especially during times of crises – whether manmade or natural disaster,” said Tara A. Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY. “Our Blizzard Boxes are one of the important ways we are able to nourish and care for our vulnerable community members, even if a major storm strikes. We are grateful to Resurgence Brewing Company and Delaware North for teaming up on this creative and refreshing opportunity that celebrates the resiliency of our community while supporting our neighbors in need.”
“Delaware North is an incredible partner in our mission to provide dignity, hope and brighter futures to Western New York neighbors in need. This initiative is the latest of many ways that Delaware North’s steadfast support is making a true impact in alleviating food insecurity throughout the region,” Ellis continued.
The Snow Problemo campaign builds on the success of last year’s “Cheers for a Cause” initiative, which featured the 716 Spritz cocktail, also served at the airport, with proceeds supporting FeedMore WNY.
