New Explorer Cabins offer immersive experiences at Yellowstone National Park

Delaware North expands Explorer Cabin concept honoring the spirit of exploration and the great outdoors

GARDINER, Mont. (June 8, 2022)Delaware North is proud to announce the debut of the Jim Bridger Explorer Cabins near the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner, Mont.
Inspired by the comforts of home and the offerings of a hotel, the new Explorer Cabins blend the refined charm of cabin lodging with the personalized service and amenities of a full-service resort – set within a pristine mountain setting.
Located at Delaware North’s The Ridgeline Hotel® at Yellowstone, an Ascend Hotel Collection member, the Jim Bridger Explorer Cabins are minutes from the park’s North Entrance and a short drive from Mammoth Hot Springs and Lamar Valley, a renowned viewing area for wildlife in the park.
The Explorer Cabins are named after James Felix “Jim” Bridger, a legendary mountaineer, wilderness guide and teller of tall tales who explored the American West in the first half of the 19th century. In 1843, he established the historic trading post Fort Bridger in Uinta County, Wyo. – a vital resupply point for wagon trains that was leased to house the U.S. Army during the Utah War in 1857.
“We are thrilled by the continued expansion of the Explorer Cabins concept, building on the success of our offerings at Yellowstone at the West Entrance to the park, as well as at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite,” said Scott Socha, group president of Delaware North Parks and Resorts and the company’s operations in Australia. “The Jim Bridger Explorer Cabins add to Delaware North’s one-of-a-kind collection, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the majestic beauty of Yellowstone.”

At the Jim Bridger Explorer Cabins, guests have access to modern conveniences in a secluded natural setting that truly elevates the idea of an outdoor vacation. The cabins are perfect for romantic getaways and solo travelers who want to experience these beautiful settings in a new and unique way.
Each of the nine private cabins (one of which is ADA compliant) offers a second-floor balcony to view iconic sights, including views of Yellowstone National Park and the Roosevelt Arch.

WiFi is available in the cabins and throughout the property, and cabin guests have full use of the Ridgeline hotel amenities. Guests are welcomed at check-in with a complimentary S’mores kit to enjoy by the community fire pits on a beautiful Montana evening.
Delaware North debuted the Explorer Cabins concept in 2013 on land purchased near the company’s hotels in West Yellowstone, Mont., near the West Entrance to the park.
In 2016, the company developed and opened 25 cottages along the Lake Erie shoreline at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake in Ohio. Most recently, Delaware North opened the Explorer Cabins at Yosemite in summer 2019 as part of a $25 million development to enhance Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite’s lodging, dining and recreation options. There are 50 standalone, two-bedroom cabins on the campus.
