In honor of March being Women’s History Month, The Sports Museum at TD Garden unveiled a new exhibit, “TEAMMATES: Voices From Title IX,” celebrating the rise of women in team sports since the passage of Title IX in 1972.

Sponsored by Iron Mountain Inc., the Boston-based storage and information management company, the exhibit features a wall-to-wall interactive timeline highlighting notable female sports figures from the last four tdgardensportsmuseum-5198075decades.

To celebrate the unveiling, The Sports Museum and The Boston Globe hosted a special event March 24 as part of the Legendary Lunch Series. The event was hosted by Hall of Fame sportscaster Lesley Visser and featured a speaking panel of established women in sports, including TD Garden President Amy Latimer – who in 2012 was named the first female president of an arena in the United States –along with Jackie MacMullan, Angela Ruggerio and Daynia La-Force.

Located within The Sports Museum, near the Boston Garden Theater on level 5 of the Delaware North-owned-and-operated TD Garden, the interactive exhibit features competitors (athletes such as Billie Jean King and Maya Moore), chroniclers (journalists such as Robin Roberts and Christine Brennan) and builders (coaches and executives such as Donna Orender).
