WHO: Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex
WHAT: Space Shuttle Atlantis will travel from Kennedy Space Center’s Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to its permanent display at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. News media are invited to cover and photograph Atlantis along the 9.8 mile journey. Media will have an opportunity for up-close views of Atlantis at Exploration Park and as Atlantis approaches the Visitor Complex.

MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES:
Atlantis Photo Opportunity at Exploration Park
· 12 – 3 p.m. Atlantis will make a three hour stop at Exploration Park during its journey to the Visitor Complex atop the Orbiter Transporter System. NASA officials and space shuttle astronauts are scheduled to make presentations to guests during this historic event. Exploration Park will provide a festival setting where space flight hardware and launch support vehicles from the past, present and future of space exploration will be featured.

Atlantis Photo Opportunity along SR 405 in front of the Visitor Complex
· 5 – 6 p.m. An opportunity to view Atlantis as it travels along SR 405 in front of Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to its new home.
· Live shot opportunities for broadcast with prior arrangement.
· 7 p.m. Fireworks display at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
