KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. (Oct. 25, 2016) – As part of an ongoing effort to support those affected by Hurricane Matthew, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has raised $5,000 for the three Sharing Centers in Brevard County and all United Way agencies. Therrin Protze, chief operating officer, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and 2016 United Way Campaign Chair presented a check to Dave Brubaker, president and chief operating officer, Sharing Center of Central Brevard, on behalf of all visitor complex staff on Monday, Oct. 24.
Earlier this month, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex announced that it would add a second week to its annual Salute to Brevard following Hurricane Matthew. From Oct. 31 – Nov. 6, 2016, Brevard County, Fla. residents and up to five guests will enjoy 70 percent off admission during this week-long celebration.
Throughout Salute to Brevard guests are encouraged to bring canned goods and non-perishable food items to benefit the Sharing Center of Central Brevard, North Brevard Charities Sharing Center and the South Brevard Sharing Center. While not mandatory to receive discounted admission, the suggested donation is at least one food item or canned good per guest. All contributions are used to provide emergency assistance to individuals and families in need throughout Brevard County.
Proof of Brevard County residency in the form of a driver’s license or utility bill is required to receive the special visitor complex admission rate of $15 plus tax for adults and $10 plus tax for children 3-11 years. Tickets must be purchased at the visitor complex on the date of entry.
Admission includes the new 3D IMAX® space film, A Beautiful Planet, the Apollo/Saturn V Center, the Space Shuttle Atlantis® attraction, Shuttle Launch Experience®, Journey to Mars: Explorers Wanted, Astronaut Encounter and Rocket Garden.
