New Terminal 3 food court includes Pollo Tropical, BurgerFi and Dunkin’
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (July 23, 2024) – Delaware North, a global hospitality and entertainment company, today announced the culmination of its 26-unit foodservice program with the official grand opening of a food court at Broward County’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).
The new Terminal 3 food court in Concourse E features a blend of national and local fast-casual brands: Pollo Tropical, BurgerFi and Dunkin’. Delaware North recently added Bonefish Grill, The Market on Las Olas and Topo Chico Hard Seltzer Cantina to its Terminal 3 portfolio at FLL.
“The new food court will fill a huge demand from airport guests and will be a great addition to the dining options in Terminal 3,” said Mark Gale, FLL CEO and director of aviation. “Additionally, Terminal 4 travelers can access this dining venue via the post-security walkway connecting the two terminals.”
The Pollo Tropical at FLL is the first location for the restaurant brand to open in a U.S. airport, according to Delaware North.
“We’re thrilled to enhance our already strong food and beverage program with the addition of these three outstanding partners,” said Eric Haseman, vice president of operations for Delaware North Travel. “Our hospitality program was intentionally crafted to feature a blend of highly recognizable local and national brands, offering both full-service restaurant dining and options built for efficiency. There is truly something for everyone.”
Founded in 1988 in Miami and today with more than 170 locations, Pollo Tropical offers quick, casual service with a focus on fresh, citrus-marinated grilled chicken. The brand’s famous platters with sides of rice, beans and plantains will quickly become a traveler favorite. Wraps, sandwiches and salads will also be available.
“We are excited to bring our Pollo Tropical favorites to the FLL airport to give travelers a taste of the South Florida experience,” said Pollo Tropical CEO Dirk Montgomery.
BurgerFi, which was founded in 2011 in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and today has more than 120 locations, serves high-quality angus beef and wagyu burgers, a vegetarian VegeFi burger, hot dogs, fried and grilled chicken, fries, onion rings and shakes.
“Nontraditional restaurants provide opportunities that wouldn’t normally be available, which greatly increase the awareness and visibility of our brand,” said Carl Bachmann, chief executive officer for BurgerFi International. “In my experience, the best way to accelerate growth and evolution is through nontraditional avenues, such as airports. We are excited to continue our partnership with Delaware North and open our second location in FLL.”
Dunkin’ is the leading iced coffee, regular hot coffee, donut and bagel outlet within foodservice, and has consistently been ranked the no. 1 coffee chain by the Customer Loyalty Engagement Index. With America’s favorite coffee, innovative beverage strategies, and mouthwatering snacks, Dunkin’ has become the brand everyone knows globally and loves locally. Dunkin’ has more than 13,800 locations across nearly 40 global markets, and is part of the Inspire Brands portfolio.
“Busy travelers will now have the option to fuel up on America’s favorite coffee at the new Dunkin’ in Terminal 3,” said Chris Burr, nontraditonal development director at Inspire Brands. “We provide fast and customizable options for guests on-the-go, delivering mouthwatering meals and much-needed pick-me-ups.”
