Delaware North’s operations in and around Yellowstone National Park – including the 12 Yellowstone General Stores, four lodging properties in West Yellowstone, Mont. and the Yellowstone Vacations tour company – have been awarded a Montana EcoStar Award for 2018.
The EcoStar Award recognizes business that are taking environmentally responsible steps toward reducing waste and maximizing efficiency.
The EcoStar committee specifically acknowledged Delaware North’s Zero Waste operations at the Yellowstone General Stores; the guest-facing programs at the the hotels, including the housekeeping opt-out program, water conservation messaging and recycling programs; and the fuel efficiency of the vehicle fleet of Yellowstone Vacations tours.
The sustainability and submission efforts were led by Ali Chipouras, environmental and interpretive manager for Delaware North at Yellowstone. Chipouras and the rest of Delaware North’s team will be recognized by Montana Governor Steve Bullock at a reception next month at the State Capitol Rotunda in Helena, Mont.
