Kerry Richards, Delaware North’s recruitment manager in the United Kingdom, on Sept. 4 was honored in the Rising Star category at the 2015 HR in Hospitality Awards at London’s Savoy Hotel.
The Rising Star category is sponsored by the weekly industry publication The Caterer, and the award provides Richards with a £1,000 scholarship and an industry mentor. The Caterer will also write a blog, following her progress over the next year.
“Kerry has been part of the Delaware North team for more than three years, and in that time she has had a 
massive impact,” said Allison Gray, Delaware North’s human resources director in the UK. “She has built a team of highly regarded, operationally astute event-day staff recruiters who know just what to look for in a candidate. She has totally re-engineered our recruitment process and brought us into the 21st century with technology that enables us to find great job-seekers and for job-seekers to find us.”
HR in Hospitality provides a forum for human resources professionals and others within the hospitality industry. The association dates back to 1966, when it was known as The Hotel & Catering Training Association, before it partnered in 1975 with the Hotel & Catering Personnel Managers Association to go under the acronym HCPTA. The association was renamed HR in Hospitality in March 2009.
