Delaware North team members at Wembley Stadium in London, where the company has served as hospitality provider since 2007, last week enjoyed a hearty breakfast and inspiring talk from The Burnt Chef Project Founder Kris Hall about mental health in the workplace.
The Burnt Chef Project is a community-interest group designed to remove mental health stigma in the worldwide hospitality industry. The organization engages with professionals to destigmatize mental health issues and generate support to help train frontline staff and business owners in fostering hospitality environments that support employees’ mental health.
“At Delaware North, our people are at the heart of our business,” said Marco Galer-Reick, vice president for Delaware North U.K. strategy enablement and human resources. “We are unwavering in our commitment to providing great service and guest experiences. That’s why we prioritize the support and care of our employees in our high-pressure industry and are proud to partner with The Burnt Chef Project.”
Each team member also received a goodie bag filled with protein bars, vitamin supplements and snacks for fuel during the venue’s busy season of hosting football games, concerts and world-class events.
“Just like the athletes on the field need to be physically and mentally fit so they can perform at the highest level while entertaining huge crowds, we need to create a culture where Delaware North team members look after themselves while working busy jobs delighting our guests,” Galer-Reick said.
