Every summer, young athletes from around the world and their families look forward to the Little League Baseball World Series (LLBWS), held in South Williamsport, Pa. Delaware North Sportservice has had the honor of helping to create these lasting memories as the foodservice provider for the league since 2002, and the company now operates the new flagship retail store, as well.
To create an amazing experience, Delaware North Sportservice brings in seasoned team members from throughout the division to oversee operations during the 11-day event. While the Little League International Complex is open year-round, the World Series is
by far the busiest time of year.
“The Little League World Series truly is a unique experience,” said Nick Hanneken, general manager for Delaware North at the LLWS and concessions manager at Great American Ball Park, home of MLB’s Cincinnati Reds. “Williamsport welcomes people from all over the world and everyone comes together to watch the games no matter who they are rooting for. Little League, the players and the fans make it an amazing environment that I believe everyone should try to go see and be a part of at least once.”
During the month of August, the LLBWS welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors to its more than 80-acre complex, inviting them all to stop by its gift shops and museum to help provide families with merchandise to remember their bucket-list experience for years to come.
From apparel and caps to show off their region support to memorabilia and pins to remember the experience for generations, the new flagship Little League store is a go-to for families from all around the world.
As a nonprofit organization, Little League International’s retail operations, both on the complex and at ShopLittleLeague.org, further help to support the organization’s purpose of positively impacting youth and communities.
As for food and beverage operations, guests have their pick of the Main Concession stand or two portable locations (Home Bu and International Groove). Featured items include the Deluxe Burger, Chicken Sandwich, Bistro Burger, Chicken Fried Rice, Cuban Sandwich and Mediterranean Wrap.
