NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (Nov. 21, 2023) – Commonhouse Aleworks, a popular North Charleston brewery, opened for service today at Charleston International Airport near Gate B5.
The airport outpost of the brewery, operated by Delaware North, replaced the former Sam Adams Bar and features more than 1,250 square feet – complete with six taps of Commonhouse craft beer and an elevated pub fare menu. The new restaurant also features an expanded patio space.
Beer options for the opening day included Park Circle Pale (American pale ale), Looking East (West Coast IPA), White Point Lager (American lager), Wise One (Hefeweizen wheat beer), Vienna (Vienna-style lager) and Red Fox (Irish ale).
“Our ethos centers on the celebration of what we all share in common,” said Pearce Fleming, proprietor and CEO of Commonhouse Aleworks. “We’re elated to shepherd our community’s mentality here in North Charleston through our new occupation in the airport with locals and visitors alike. We can’t think of a better way to make an impression than through good company and conversation.”
Fleming and his team pride their practice as “a brewery and gathering place for serving the community through collaboration, fundraising, forum and fellowship.” A portion of proceeds from every Commonhouse beer sold at the flagship location is donated to community impact organizations.

Commonhouse Aleworks in the Charleston International Airport is open daily from 4 a.m. to the last arriving flight. The flagship Commonhouse Aleworks is located in the Park Circle neighborhood of North Charleston, S.C., and is open Tuesday through Sunday.
