Several team members from Travel at Austin International Airport and Sportservice at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, merged their culinary talents to represent Delaware North at the annual Mac and Cheese Festival Tour held in Austin this month.
The Mac and Cheese Festival is a national tour originating in Austin that stops in cities throughout the United States to celebrate one of America’s favorite dishes by featuring top chefs, eateries and food trucks.
Team Delaware North won the “Peoples’ Choice” award for its Jambalaya Mac and Cheese.
“We received great feedback about our dishes from festival goers, and we worked so well together and put a lot of hard work into our dishes,” said Todd McBee, sous chef at Globe Life Field. “It all paid off in the end.”
Delaware North also hosted the VIP lounge for festival guests, who enjoyed a New Orleans-themed spread featuring Spicy Gator Crepes and French Quarter Boudin Balls.
“Delaware North’s success at the Mac and Cheese Festival is just another example of the amazing things that can happen when our subsidiaries come together and share a vision to execute culinary offerings at such a high level,” said Daniel Romero, food and beverage operations manager at Austin Airport. “We look forward to defending our title and returning the ‘People’s Choice’ belt next year.”
