Best Buy Express located in north concourse of Syracuse Hancock International Airport

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (Feb. 13, 2012) – Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services at the Syracuse Hancock International Airport announced today the installation of a brand new Best Buy Express ZoomShop, located in the north concourse of the airport.

The Best Buy Express machine, manufactured by San Francisco based ZoomSystems, is an automated retail channel of distribution which offers the convenience of online shopping with the immediate gratification of traditional retail. The machine is ideally suited for the airport’s high-traffic environment, and offers the same high-end consumer electronics found at Best Buy stores nationwide. Products include portable media players, digital cameras, gaming consoles, headphones, phone chargers, travel gadgets and popular products by brand names like Apple.

“One of Delaware North’s goals is to always be mindful about the future of retail technology and what is most convenient for the customer.” said Matt King, President of Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services. “Installing the Best Buy Express ZoomShop at the Syracuse airport shows Delaware North’s dedication to staying ahead of retail trends and to providing customers what they want with ease.”

“The Best Buy Express ZoomShop is a convenient and easy way for our passengers to have access to a variety of electronics and other products and we are thrilled to now have a ZoomShop in our airport.” said Aviation Commissioner Christina Reale. “This is just the first of many services we hope to introduce to the flying public in the future.”

Launched in 2008, the ZoomShop Express concept fulfills Best Buy’s promise to “provide today’s consumers with products to help them stay connected or find an escape anywhere, anytime.” a concept Delaware North wholeheartedly embraces. Similarly, the Best Buy Express provides airport travelers the same benefits as in-store customers, with the same pricing as in stores, full product description on a touch screen, and the ability to return items to any Best Buy in the world, full warranty, full guarantee. The machine accepts all major debit and credit cards.

The new Best Buy Express machine is located in the airport’s north concourse near the Gateway Café, the newly-opened restaurant also operated by Delaware North at the airport.
