Delaware North Companies Sportservice Donates $5,000 To Help Boys & Girls In Northern Nevada

Delaware North Companies Sportservice donation will go toward Boys & Girls Club Expenses

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Jan. 25, 2007) – Delaware North Companies Sportservice recently contributed $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows in Northern Nevada. The money will help ease the cost of programming expenses at seven site locations of the Boys & Girls Club in the Reno-Sparks community. Delaware North Companies Sportservice is proud to donate the money to a club known as "The Positive Place for Kids."

"Delaware North Companies has always been committed to contributing to the community and this is a true opportunity for us to invest in the future," said Rick Abramson, President of Delaware North Companies Sportservice. "The Boys & Girls Club is a group of people passionate about making a difference in children’s lives. They build character, promote leadership skills and help children find their place and make a difference in the world. We’re thrilled to lend a helping hand."

Abramson delivered the check to Mike Wurm, Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows on Jan. 15 at the Reno Sparks Convention Center. While the donation is specifically geared toward the Boys & Girls Club in the Reno-Sparks area, it also helps the larger network of some 3,700 neighborhood-based facilities annually serving more than 4.4 million young people, primarily from disadvantaged circumstances.

Along with this monetary donation, Delaware North Companies has also contributed items including logo hats and shirts, some of which are from the World Series. Various other Sportservice accounts have donated team retail and merchandise to the Boys & Girls Club to use as program incentives. Delaware North Companies will also make future donations in locations where General Manager Meetings for the Sportservice Division are held.
