BUFFALO, N.Y. (September 25, 2007) — Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts has promoted Scott Socha to its newly created role of vice president of finance and business development. Having spent the past three years as the vice president of finance for the company, Socha is eager to take on this new opportunity as the head of business development for the company.
“I am thrilled to take on this new challenge,” stated Scott Socha, vice president of finance and business development. “I believe what we’re doing as a company from both a business and stewardship perspective is both exciting and important work.”
Socha joined the company in 1999 as manager of financial planning and analysis for the company’s airport hospitality division. In 2002, he made the move to Parks & Resorts and spent time as an assistant controller before accepting the role of vice president of finance.
“Just what I’ve seen our company do in the past eight years is amazing,” Socha added. “From our experience as the ‘Stewards of so many Special Places’ to our environmental management system, GreenPath®, we’re really doing great work. Couple all of that with our intense facilities management system and our focus on interpretive story telling and we are an ideal business partner.”
Socha, who has been an integral part of the company’s growth, has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Buffalo and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. John Fisher College.
