Delaware North UK teams took home several awards last night at the 2019 Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards, held by Stadium Experience.
The prestigious event was held at the Etihad Stadium, home to Manchester City Football Club. The awards recognise the efforts and dedication shown by the catering, conference and events teams at every football and rugby stadium across the UK and Ireland. All of the award categories are judged independently by industry experts.
Delaware North’s team at Pride Park Stadium, home of the Derby County Rams Football Club, took home the silver award for the “Non-Matchday Sales Team of the Year Award.” The award recognises the best non-matchday sales team in stadium venues across the UK and Ireland. Judges were specifically looking for teams demonstrating consistent growth, using new ideas to create unique and different events, while also providing value and overcoming challenges.
The Wasps Rugby Club at Ricoh Arena, where Delaware North operates food service and lodging, took home the “Visiting Rugby Director Award,” which recognises the best away experience a team has. The welcome, service and catering are main factors in judging. Derby County Football Club was recognized with a silver award for the “Visiting Football Director Award.”
Delaware North’s team at London Stadium, home of the West Ham United Football Club, took home the bronze award for “Chef Team of the Year.” The award is judged by Salon Culinaire chefs as part of the live kitchen event which took place alongside the Foodservice Show at NEC, Birmingham. The teams had one hour to prepare, cook and present a three-course menu suitable for their club chairman to entertain the head of the FA or RFU. Delaware North has operated food and beverage, special events and tour services at London Stadium since 2015.
