Delaware North Companies Park & Resort Properties Win With Travelers In Search Of Culinary Delights And Mythical Feasts

The BALSAMS Grand Resort and Ahwahnee Hotel receive culinary acclaim.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Jan 18, 2007) — The BALSAMS Grand Resort Hotel, a property managed by Delaware North Companies, has been honored in the "Best for Food" category of the annual 2007 Gold List prepared by Condé Nast Traveler magazine.

"We are proud to manage this revered luxury resort located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire that continues to raise the bar in travel hospitality with its culinary excellence," stated Kevin Kelly, President, Delaware North Companies Hospitality Group.

Condé Naste Traveler Magazine recognized the European-style resort with a perfect score for food as well as exceptionally high marks for service in their thirteenth annual Gold List compiled through input from more than 21,000 Conde Naste Traveler subscribers.

The BALSAMS Grand Resort Hotel is known for serving a blend of classical French and American cuisine. While The BALSAMS’ menu changes on a nightly basis, many of the superior dishes have been served at the resort for generations.

Recipes created by the talented chefs at The BALSAMS Grand Resort along with other celebrated recipes from all of Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts can be found in the company’s newly released cookbook, Pathways to Plate.

The culinary expertise of the chefs at Delaware North Companies shines through on every page of this highly collectible book.  Included in the cookbook are unique recipes from the annual Bracebridge dinner held since 1927 at The Ahwahnee Hotel at Yosemite National Park.  Famed photographer Ansel Adams created the illustrious dinner. According to Kelly, “Delaware North Companies feels honored to assist each year in the re-creation of this time-honored, magnificent pageant.” The dinner is complete with period costumes and choruses to accompany processions of platters. “The award-winning chefs at The Ahwahnee prepare menus fit for kings and queens,” stated Kelly. “Everyone who attends the event feels like royalty.”

The Wall Street Journal called Bracebridge, "…the country’s, if not the world’s, premier Christmas dinner." The Ahwahnee Hotel is open to visitors year-round, but December is especially wonderful thanks to this amazing event which offers a living link to our Christmas heritage.
