MLB postseason begins with new Delaware North food creations for Brewers-Braves series

Major League Baseball’s postseason has arrived, and with it new specialty food items at ballparks where Delaware North Sportservice operates. The National League Division Series features two Delaware North clients, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Atlanta Braves.

When the Brewers host Games 1 and 2 on Friday and Saturday, American Family Field in Milwaukee will feature several new specialty items in general concessions. The new items – which feature products from Wisconsin-based Johnsonville, Sargento and Milwaukee Pretzel Co. – include:

  • Johnsonville Bratzilla: Johnsonville Brat on a Milwaukee Pretzel Roll with fried kraut and Secret Stadium Sauce.
  • Johnsonville Corn Brat: Deep-fried Johnsonville Brat with house-made beer batter, served with yellow mustard.
  • Full Count Cristo: Sargento Swiss cheese and ham on French toast with grape jelly.
  • Salted Caramel & Toffee Milwaukee Pretzel: Milwaukee Pretzel topped with salted caramel and toffee.
  • S’More Milwaukee Pretzel: Milwaukee Pretzel topped with marshmallows and chocolate sauce.

A wrap-up of all the food items available for Brewers fans can be seen here from local TV station WTMJ in Milwaukee.

As the series shifts to Atlanta, Delaware North’s team at Truist Park will offer their own specialty concessions items for Braves fans.

  • deleware-north-at-truist-park-2Knucksie Dog: Footlong all-beef hot dog topped with pulled pork, coleslaw, pickles and sweet and tangy BBQ sauce on a corn-dusted bun.
  • Chicken Fried Hot Dog: Footlong all-beef hot dog chicken-breaded and fried, topped with pickles and chipotle aioli.

In Chicago, where Delaware North provides food, beverage and retail services for the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field, Executive Chef Bret Donaldson provided a demonstration and preview of his smokehouse BBQ recipe at the ballpark for local TV station WGN.

The White Sox, playing the Houston Astros in the American League Division Series, will host Game 3 on Oct. 10. If a fourth game is necessary, the two teams will meet again at Guaranteed Rate Field on Oct. 11. Watch Donaldson’s full segment here.

The St. Louis Cardinals, another team for which Delaware North provides food, beverage and retail services, reached the Wild Card round of postseason play before being eliminated by the LA Dodgers.
