BUFFALO, N.Y. (April 6, 2007) -- Jeremy Jacobs, chairman and chief executive officer of Delaware North Companies and owner of the Boston Bruins, took part in a panel discussion at the World Congress of Sports in New York City on March 22. The discussion, titled, "How Much Higher Will the Price Tag Go?" focused on the global economic impacts of sports.
Other panelists involved included Bill Cella, vice chairman of Draftach; Ed Horne, president of NHL Enterprises, Beatriz Perez, vice president of Media Sports and Entertainment Marketing for Coca Cola; Doug Quinn, president of Carat Media Group Americas; and Mark Wright, vice president of corporate media for Anheuser-Busch.
The discussion was moderated by SportsBusiness Journal's managing editor, Ross Nethery.
Jacobs' comments focused on celebrity athletes, corporate sponsorship, advertising costs, the next generations of media and the impact of sports on a global basis. He also delivered insight into fans' expectations and new trends in fan amenities.
