Delaware North announces ‘Bee the Difference’ campaign success and donation

Following the close of Earth Month and just in time for World Bee Day on May 20, Delaware North has announced results from its monthlong “Bee the Difference” campaign. The company will make a donation of over $21,000 to The Bee Cause Project, an educational group inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards while protecting the planet’s precious pollinators.

In celebration of Earth Month 2023 and to educate consumers on the importance of protecting pollinators, Delaware North partnered with The Bee Cause Project to launch “Bee the Difference,” a campaign providing an exclusive “Bee’s Harvest Margarita” and educational interactive augmented reality experience at more than 100 Delaware North food and beverage venues nationwide. Throughout the entire month of April, millions of individuals were welcomed into the secret life of bees through interactive experiences, delicious pollinator-conscious cocktails and compelling educational materials.

“Delaware North is proud to be helping shine a much-needed spotlight on one of the hardest working creatures on our planet: the bee. Bees are critical to our environment and agriculture,” said Debbie Friedel, corporate director of sustainability at Delaware North. “As one of the leading companies providing food and beverage services at stadiums, airports, restaurants and other venues across the United States, we are proud to support consumer education about the vital contribution bees make to our daily lives.”

In pursuit of its mission to educate, The Bee Cause Project offers a variety of grants and resources to schools and nonprofit organizations across North America, Canada and beyond. Potential uses proposed for the donation from Delaware North include Interpretive Pollinator Habitat Gardens, Observational and Outdoor Beehives, and a Bee-Themed Curriculum to promote pollinator literacy.

“Together this corporate and nonprofit collaboration created an opportunity to bring visibility to the importance of the very creatures that make the food and beverage industry possible,” said Tami Enright, co-founder and executive director of The Bee Cause Project. “Thanks to Delaware North and this partnership, the humble and hardworking bee received the attention she deserves, the Bee Cause’s purpose was placed in front of millions of people who would otherwise not have been reached, and Delaware North demonstrated a commitment to sustainability and pollinator education in a concrete way.”
