Delaware North Companies’ Vice President of IT to Speak at 2010 Foodservice Technology Conference

 Global hospitality firm’s Jamel Perkins on panel discussing public-facing technologies

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Feb. 18, 2010) – Jamel Perkins, vice president of information technology (IT) for global hospitality provider Delaware North Companies, is set to speak at FSTEC 2010, the 15th annual foodservice technology conference and showcase Feb. 21-24 in Long Beach, Calif.

Perkins oversees Delaware North’s complex IT infrastructure and restaurant and retail point-of-sale systems at the more than 200 sports and entertainment venues, hotels and airports where the company operates. Among the company’s operating locations are Yosemite National Park, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, TD Garden in Boston, Wembley Stadium in London and New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey.

Perkins will participate in a panel discussion, Technology for Consumer Faces in Public Places, on new public-facing technologies and how they are helping enhance service. It is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. PST on Feb. 22.
 
Perkins will highlight Delaware North’s experience regarding new tools such as digital menu and marketing boards, self-order kiosks and Web-based private-party management applications. He will join other panelists in addressing why such technologies are in play at a variety of sites and locations and which technologies will be moving from novelty to necessity.
