BUFFALO, N.Y. ( June 27, 2007) – Reaffirming its commitment to its long-standing airport and travel hospitality operating division, Delaware North Companies announced some important developments today. The announcement was made by Dennis Szefel, group president of the company’s hospitality operations. Delaware North Companies is a global leader in hospitality with operations in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
“Just over a year ago, we changed the name of our airport and toll road business from CA One Services to Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services. Since then, we have focused on how we can bring the full resources and benefits of Delaware North to the airport and toll road community. Delaware North Companies has built a world-class reputation in the hospitality, sports, hotel and food service industry. We are known throughout the world for excellence in venues ranging from Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom to Kennedy Space Center in Florida and Boston’s TD Banknorth Garden. We know that the airport and toll road industry will benefit from our award-winning international hospitality experience, world-class service and operational excellence. This is the power of the Delaware North brand,” Szefel said.
In order to build upon its strategy for further retention, growth and entry into new markets, the company announced that it will be conducting a global search for a new president of its Travel Hospitality Services division. Nick Biello, currently president and chief operating officer, will continue with the company as its chief operating officer. Szefel will assume a more direct role with the airport business until a successor can be named. Biello’s focus will be on the company’s operational excellence and guest service platform. The company will retain a nationally-known, executive recruiting firm for the high-level search.
“Delaware North Companies is an exceptional company—one that is brimming with talented leaders, dedicated associates and some of the most respected venues in the world as part of its portfolio. We are confident that we will find an incredibly talented executive with hospitality experience and entrepreneurial vision who can help us bring a new, creative flair to airport and toll road dining and retail—from global brands to chic boutiques,” Szefel said.
The company announced that it expects to begin the search immediately. The new position will be based at the company’s global headquarters in Buffalo, N.Y.
