Delaware North Companies to Play Role in Kendall College Graduation Celebration

Company continues to build relationships with world-class culinary schools

BUFFALO, NY (December 11, 2007) – Delaware North Companies is taking an active role in this month’s graduation ceremonies at Kendall College in Chicago.
Richard Dobransky, vice president of food and beverage for Delaware North Companies Sportservice, will be at the school on Dec. 13 to present an overview of the company to some 50 Kendall College faculty members. That event will help kick-off a three-day series of events that will culminate with graduation on Dec. 15.
Sportservice will also host faculty members and their guests in a suite at Chicago’s Soldiers Field this January.  Sportservice operates concessions and upscale club and suite dining at Soldier Field. Presenters will be on hand to talk about the many exciting career opportunities the company has to offer culinary students.
“We’ve really begun to build an exciting relationship with Kendall College and other culinary schools around the country,” Dobransky said. “We want to be involved in helping this school celebrate its graduates – and we want to make sure they know about all Delaware North has to offer.”
A family of businesses, Delaware North Companies employs chefs at major league ballparks, national parks and gaming destinations around the country. With such places as The Ahwahnee at Yosemite National Park and Miller Park in Milwaukee on the company’s resume, there is no shortage of opportunity for young, talented chefs. Most recently, the company has teamed up with Great Performances in New York City to oversee all food, beverage and catering responsibilities for the Grand Ballroom and meeting spaces at The Plaza hotel.
Over the past year, Delaware North has developed a faculty exchange program with Kendall College with a student internship program in the works. The company is actively recruiting students for its culinary apprenticeship program at The Balsams Grand Resort Hotel in New Hampshire.
“We’ve really built a friendly relationship with Kendall College and we’ve talked about it being a model for future relationships with other schools,” Dobransky continued. “That’s why we’re thrilled to take part in the school’s graduation ceremonies.”
