“Home Plate” Features Traditional and Regional Favorites While Exploring
Emergence of Upscale Cuisine at Sports Venues
BUFFALO, N.Y. (Nov. 14, 2007) – A new special edition cookbook from Delaware North Companies Sportservice offers sports fans their first opportunity to create and savor authentic stadium, arena and ballpark dishes from across the United States and Canada in their own homes.
“Home Plate: From Hot Dogs to Haute Cuisine,” a stylish, 163-page hardback featuring more than 70 recipes, makes its debut this week. The cookbook reflects both Sportservice’s 90-plus years of distinction in sports hospitality and its commitment to culinary excellence.

Corporate chef Rolf Baumann, a certified executive chef who oversees Sportservice’s culinary efforts at more than 50 sports venues, took part in every step of the cookbook’s development, from selecting the recipes to testing them in order to ensure they could be created at home.
“Our chefs have hundreds of recipes that would qualify as great dishes, and it was no easy task to select the best from each ballpark and arena,” Chef Baumann said. “We chose the recipes featured in this book because they show the full breadth of our culinary talent. “Home Plate” recipes were edited and tested for home-use by Delaware North Companies Sportservice’s talented chefs. Recipes range from easy to difficult, casual to elegant, and include mouth-watering, full-color photography.
