Delaware North Companies Opens The Irish Pub at Newark Airport

Company opens second airport location showcasing nationally recognized food and beverage concept

BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 2, 2008) – Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services recently opened The Irish Pub at Newark Airport. The concept offers a full selection of branded beverages featuring GUINNESS® Stout, along with great tasting casual fare and a friendly, familiar atmosphere for travelers to enjoy.

The authentic Irish pub offers other popular Irish beverages including Smithwicks® Irish Ale and Harp® Lager, along with traditional Irish food offerings including Irish Potato Soup, Guinness Grandma’s Salad and hot corned beef on rye sandwiches. The atmosphere of The Irish Pub is reminiscent of some of the famous pubs in Dublin outfitted with natural wood detailing and rich interior décor.

"We are proud to be serving the best of Ireland in our food and drink. Guinness®, for example, is truly one of those rare brands that is respected everywhere for its excellence and longevity and the brand owner has shown its dedication to its great products over the years," said Matt King, president of Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services. "We have happy to bring this concept to the travelers at Newark Airport."

Delaware North Companies has had great success with the same concept at Detroit Metro Airport. The company modeled menus and design after the Detroit airport location.

Delaware North Companies is a global leader in food service and hospitality with operations at such places as Wembley Stadium in the UK, Busch Stadium in St. Louis and Yosemite National Park. The company’s Travel Hospitality Services division operates at over two-dozen airports worldwide including Los Angeles International Airport, Detroit Metro Airport and Melbourne Airport in Australia.
