Travel hospitality provider opens first franchise outside of Miami-Dade County of popular restaurant featuring healthy Mediterranean cuisine
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Dec. 9, 2009) – Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services, one of the world’s leading airport food and retail providers, has opened a branch of the popular Mediterranean restaurant Pasha’s at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
The airport Pasha’s location is the first outside of Miami-Dade County. The highly successful and popular restaurant currently has seven retail locations.
Conceived by two Harvard Business School students, Pasha’s has become a South Florida institution, beloved by visitors and locals alike for its delicious, healthy, all-natural Mediterranean cuisine. The chef-driven menu features signature items such as gourmet wraps, omelets, nut breads, soups, grilled kebabs, vegetarian options, salads, bakery items and homemade desserts.
In addition to in-seat dining, the airport Pasha’s features packaged grab-‘n’-go items for travelers’ convenience.
Bringing Pasha’s to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is a prime example of Delaware North’s Gateway Concept, the company’s longtime strategy of bringing local and regional concepts to airports and other travel destinations.
"Delaware North is always seeking to incorporate into our operations the unique brands and dining experiences of the cities and regions where we do business,” said Matt King, president of the company’s Travel Hospitality Services division. “With its creative, healthy cuisine and fresh menu options, Pasha’s will help expand travelers’ options and perceptions about airport dining.”
"We are extremely excited about partnering with Delaware North, which is helping Pasha’s reach an even larger audience,” said Antonio Ellek, Pasha’s CEO and one of its founders. “As a leader in the hospitality industry, Delaware North’s knowledge and experience will help us grow.”
Brian Bowdish, local general manager for Delaware North, helped spearhead the effort to bring the popular eatery to the airport.
“We are continuously on the lookout for brands that reflect the true essence of our location,” Bowdish said. “We were aware of Pasha’s distinguished reputation and knew it would be an excellent addition to our offerings for travelers.”
The fast, casual eatery is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is located in Terminal 1, Concourse B, serving passengers traveling with Southwest, Frontier and Midwest airlines.
