BUFFALO, N.Y. (May 2, 2007) ? Delaware North Companies – Boston, operators of the TD Banknorth Garden, have named industry veteran Nicholas Langella as senior vice president, arena business and operations. In his role, Langella will direct and oversee all day to day business operations for the TD Banknorth Garden including facility management and event management, technology, tenant and labor relations, guest services, ticketing, and retail.
“Nick Langella brings a tremendous amount of industry experience with him to the TD Banknorth Garden. In particular, his expertise within mixed-use facilities will be invaluable and complementary to Delaware North Companies ongoing arena improvement plans and surrounding real estate development,” said John Wentzell, president of Delaware North Companies – Boston and the TD Banknorth Garden.
Langella brings more than 27 years of experience in the facilities industry. He previously held the position of general manager (Boston Properties) for the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority and was responsible for Boston’s two convention centers, the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC) and the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center.
Formerly, Langella served as vice president of development and facilities for the Waterford Group, LLC, which oversaw the construction of the new Connecticut Convention Center Complex in Hartford. In 1992, he opened and served for 10 years as General Manager of the Rhode Island Convention Center, Providence, RI. Langella also opened the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City in 1986 and served as Operations Manager until 1992.

Nick began his career in 1980 at the Nassau Coliseum Sports Arena in Uniondale, New York, home of the NHL’s N.Y. Islanders. He earned his Certified Facilities Executive (CFE) in 2006 and is a member of numerous industry organizations and committees.
