Delaware North Companies’ American Fare Wins The Hearts of Fans at First NFL Game at New Wembley Stadium

International concessionaire’s hot dogs and hamburgers sell like hot cakes

BUFFALO, N.Y.(Nov. 7, 2007) – A sellout crowd of 81,176 fans watched as the Miami Dolphins took on the New York Giants at London’s Wembley Stadium on Oct. 28 – the first regular-season National League Football (NFL) game to be played outside of North America. But the sell-out crowd was also met with a match-up of another kind. Delaware North Companies, international concessionaire and exclusive caterer for the prestigious Wembley Stadium, brought traditional British fare head-to-head with American favorites that define the football experience.

“We were prepared for a toss-up, but sales during the landmark game showed traditional American cuisine won with a shutout,” said Andrew Taylor, general manager, Wembley Stadium. “In fact, out of the top four selling food items, we counted three American winners: 2,851 hot dogs; 9,143 hamburgers; and 2,008 nachos were sold.”
