Delaware North and The Westin Buffalo, the company-operated hotel located in its global headquarters, on Monday received an Operational Excellence award during Marriott International’s 2018 Marriott International National Association (MINA) & Full-Service Owners Conference.
“Since its opening in 2016, the team at The Westin Buffalo has seamlessly blended innovative technology with exceptional guest service,” said Scott Socha, president of Delaware North’s parks and resorts division. “The result of that has been a first-rate operation, and we’re proud that both our guests and our partners at Marriott International have recognized that.”
In addition to the MINA Award, The Westin Buffalo also recently earned the top spot in the category of “Intent to Recommend” among all Westin hotels in North America – the second year in a row the hotel received the honor.
The rankings are part of Marriott’s Global Quality Program, which maintains, communicates, and measures guest feedback and adherence to standards. The program uses guest satisfaction surveys and brand standards audits to measure customer experience and to ensure properties deliver the full brand promise.
“These awards are a testament to the hard work of each of the associates at The Westin Buffalo,” said Tom Long, the hotel’s general manager. “Delaware North’s name is on the front of our building, so we place a high standard of excellence on ourselves. It’s extremely gratifying to be able to represent the company at such a high level.”
