Delaware North 100th anniversary celebrations continue to celebrate associates, clients and communities

Here’s a look at a few more of the special celebrations recently held by Delaware North locations to mark the company’s 100th anniversary – a 100-day, companywide celebration that is nearing its halfway point.

Delaware North associates and guests at the Pine Lodge and Best Western Rocky Mountain Lodge in Whitefish, Mont., celebrated with a luncheon and then buried a time capsule that included photos of the properties and nearby Glacier National Park, recent newspaper clippings and current daily rate sheets. The Stumptown Historical Society was also on-hand with displays and photographs of the Whitefish area over the past century.

Both of the aforementioned Delaware North-owned lodging properties also showed a commitment to the company’s environmental management system, GreenPath®; all lightbulbs will be replaced with high-efficiency LED bulbs, and each associate and guest at the celebration received a reusable coffee mug that included packets of popcorn and peanuts as a tip-of-the-cap to the company’s roots. Delaware North’s commitment to social responsibility also resulted in $1,000 donations both to Dream Adaptive Recreation (an organization dedicated to providing year-round outdoor activities for the disabled) and the Whitefish Community Foundation, which aims to improve the quality of life for Whitefish residents by building endowments and fostering community development by helping donors and nonprofits.

The celebration kicked off bright and early on Oct. 7 at the Delaware North100yearcelebrationpicture-1358158-owned-and-operated Jumer’s Casino & Hotel in Rock Island, Ill., where members of the company’s team onsite planted a Royalty Flowering Crabtree – marked with a commemorative plaque – before enjoying an all-day, manager-and-director-manned buffet in the facility’s D. James Jumer Event Center. Associates also received commemorative T-shirts, which can be worn on special days throughout the year, and a professional photographer was on-hand to capture an image of the team in front of Jumer’s pylon signs (pictured at right).

On Oct. 12, associates and guests were treated to celebratory cake and complimentary food at Apache Greyhound Park in Arizona. And as an additional thank-you to guests – domestic draft beer was on sale for $1 from noon until 7 p.m.; cheers to that.

With the classic sounds of a Frank Sinatra tribute performer in the air, guests at the Delaware North-owned-and-operated Daytona Beach Kennel Club & Poker Room in Florida enjoyed rolled-back food and beverage prices to ring in the company’s 100th anniversary. Meanwhile, guests who donated to the gaming venue’s “100,000 Cans of Care” campaign had a chance to win more than $100. And to top it off, a local artist joined the celebration to paint one of many proud moments for the Jacobs family through the years – hoisting Lord Stanley’s Cup in 2011, when Delaware North Chairman Jeremy Jacobs’ Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup Final.
