YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif., April 21, 2010 – Visitors to Yosemite National Park are invited to experience a brand new Habitat this spring with the debut of the Park’s totally environmentally-friendly store, located next door to Degnan’s Deli in Yosemite Village. With products ranging from tee shirts made from recycled plastic bottles and children’s games made of soy, to organic snacks and solar powered water bottles that double as flashlights, the new Habitat store offers a range of affordable gifts, clothing and outdoor gear in a completely eco-friendly retail environment.

Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, a popular year-round lodging destination in the heart of Yosemite Village, unveiled today two prototype guest rooms on the cutting edge of environmentally-friendly interior architecture and design. The two rooms at The Lodge are the first of their kind in Yosemite National Park.

Chefs and other culinary officials of Delaware North Companies are turning their attention to the water this Earth Day. The global leader in hospitality and food service will pledge Thursday to refrain from using 90 percent of the fish and seafood species that are listed on the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch “avoid” list. A plan to address the remaining 10 percent will be drafted by year’s end.

On Saturday, March 27, at 8:30 p.m. local time, many Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts locations will join organizations, corporations, governments and hundreds of millions of people around the world to turn off their lights in support of Earth Hour, a global initiative aimed at drawing attention to the issue of climate change.

Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts began operating the Queen Mary for five years beginning at midnight today.

Southland Park Gaming & Racing has received international certification that its operations are environmentally friendly.
