Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa Offers Special Bald Eagle Viewing Packages

Experience fantastic bald eagle viewing opportunities, enjoy photo workshops and displays and take a jet boat tour November through December at Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa

HARRISON HOT SPRINGS, British Columbia (Oct. 24, 2011) – If the perfect lake setting, natural mineral hot springs, beautiful forests and towering mountains aren’t enough to make you visit Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa, here’s another reason: a chance to view thousands of bald eagles in their natural habitat.

"From the incredible mountains, rivers and lakes to the wildlife, we enjoy spectacular views every day at Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa in British Columbia. We’re just over an hour’s drive from Vancouver and three hours from Bellingham, Wash.,” says Danny Crowell, general manager at Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa. “Still, the annual migration of the great bald eagle takes my breath away every single time. I consider the bald eagle migration to be the icing on the cake of all of the amazing scenery."

Every fall, thousands of bald eagles flock to southwestern British Columbia, drawn by millions of salmon that spawn in local rivers and estuaries. The region witnessed over 7000 bald eagles in 2010. To celebrate this event, the annual Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival will be held on November 19 and 20. The festival honors this unique gathering, the third-largest of its kind in North America, while also paying tribute to the region’s overall biodiversity. In addition to the majestic bald eagle, you may encounter seals, deer, coyotes and the great white sturgeon.

The Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival (fraservalleybaldeaglefestival.ca)peaks over 2 days, but resort guests may view bald eagles November until February. To recognize this spectacular natural wildlife event Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa is offering unique bald eagle vacation packages, which are available November 1 until December 15.
