Three more restaurants add to Austin airport’s local offerings

Delaware North’s travel division, along with its joint-venture partners Brazos Concessions & Salt Lick Joint Ventures, last week opened the East Food Park Experience at Austin Bergstrom International Airport. East Food Park Experience is located near Gate 21 and features the flavors of three local restaurant brands, Flyrite Chicken, East Side Pies, and Hat Creek Burger Company. The restaurants are the latest concepts opened at the airport by Delaware North, which has built out more than 15 new food, beverage and retail outlets since 2017.

Flyrite Chicken
Flyrite Chicken is an Austin-born chicken concept that prides itself on making “fast food you can feel good about.” With no MSG (monosodium glutamate), antibiotics, artificial ingredients, or high-fructose corn syrup, it’s tasty but wholesome menu includes The Standard chicken sandwich, The Cowboy (a guest favorite), and kid-friendly chicken tenders. Healthier options are also offered, such as a garden salad and grilled chicken wrap.

East Side Pies (ESP)
Started in Austin in 2006, ESP strives to provide the Austin community with the best experience and most wholesome product selection to complement its beautiful thincrust pies. The pizzas feature classic tomato sauce, whole-milk mozzarella and other fantastic cheese, as well as Texas-sourced meats and fresh local produce. Between 60 and 70 percent of the meats and produce come from local farmers.

Hat Creek Burger Company
Hat Creek was started in 2008 by Drew Gressett, a former University of Texas basketball player, in a food trailer serving burgers, fries and shakes. Its burgers are made with never-frozen beef served on fresh baked buns and fresh veggies. Today they have 15 locations: Nine in Austin, four in Dallas and two in the Temple/Waco area.
