Meeting Planners International Names Partner of the Year:

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. (July 3, 2008) – Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (KSCVC) was honored Thursday, June 19, 2008 with the Strategic Partner of the Year Award by the Greater Orlando Area Meeting Professionals International (GOAMPI). The award recognizes Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex special events team for their contributions to the collective success of the Central Florida meeting association.

"We’re pleased to be recognized by our peers in the robust convention market of Orlando," said Craig Corwin, Manager of Events for Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. "Our special events team goes the extra mile to create spectacular events which leave lasting impressions on clients, from dinner under a Saturn V Rocket to an outdoor concert in the Rocket Garden."

The award recognized Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in part for the customized, two-day retreat it created for GOAMPI board members during their planning sessions. Board members were hosted in comfortable meeting space at the Debus Conference Facility, surprised with a special Lunch With an Astronaut and immersed in their own space adventure with a privately guided VIP tour of Kennedy Space Center lead by veteran Space Shuttle astronaut Bob Springer.
