Innovative new food items on the menu as Major League Baseball season begins

Delaware North Sportservice is kicking off the 2019 Major League Baseball (MLB) season with new menu items that are sure to be a hit with fans.

The new culinary creations have already gotten the attention of several media outlets, including Sports Illustrated’s SI Eats, the Dallas Morning News, Yahoo Sports and tweets from influencers such as ESPN’s Darren Rovell. Here is a roundup of some the fresh menu offerings available this season:

Globe Life Park in Arlington (Texas Rangers)
The team at Globe Life Park in Arlington honored the “Everything’s bigger in Texas” motto with The Fowl Pole — a 2-pound chicken tender, hand-battered and fried to crispy perfection. It’s served on a bed of crisp waffle fries with Ranch and Honey Mustard dipping sauce.

Great American Ball Park (Cincinnati Reds)
Meanwhile, the Cincinnati team brought the heat with a chicken tender dish of its own — Cincinnati Hot Chicken Tenders are served on a slice of Texas Toast with a side of pickle slaw. Another item set to make its debut: Bulgogi Beef Egg Rolls stuffed with carrots, onions and rice, served with Gyochujang sauce.

Guaranteed Rate Field (Chicago White Sox)
The Polish Platter offers a half-pound of Vienna Beef Polish Kielbasa sausage and the choice of three loaded baked potato or onion pierogis, piled on top of sauerkraut, caramelized onions and served
with a homemade mustard sauce. Another offering, Covered and Smothered Fries, includes toppings such as Buffalo chicken (shredded chicken, crumbled bleu cheese, hot Buffalo sauce and creamy ranch), chili and cheese, Greek (sliced gyro meat, crumbled feta cheese and tomatoes drizzled with tzatziki sauce), Irish (nacho cheese, crisp bacon, sour cream and chives) and dessert (sweet potato fries topped with powdered sugar, chopped pecans, whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce and Nutella).

Comerica Park (Detroit Tigers)
Three new menu items in Detroit give the “dog” its day this season. The Bahn Mi Dog features a thick slab of bacon topped with Asian slaw and Sriracha aioli. The Coney Dog Eggroll is filled with hot dog and chili, drizzled with classic mustard and a sprinkle of diced onions. The Al Pastor Dog tops a natural casing hot dog with smoked pulled pork, pineapple relish, Sriracha aioli and Cotija cheese.

Busch Stadium (St. Louis Cardinals)
In St. Louis, the Little Buds dish is no small order. Eight burger sliders are topped with Budweiser beer cheese, garlic aioli and pickles on a soft Hawaiian roll — served in the signature home plate box piled
high with tater tots. The Twisted Topped Pretzel offers three giant pretzel twists topped and baked in front of the guest. Pretzel flavors include pepperoni and cheese, Buffalo chicken, and bacon and cheese
— served with choice of three dipping sauces.

Miller Park (Milwaukee Brewers)
The culinary team in Milwaukee added two savory and sweet items. The Wisconsin Ultimate Cheese Fry is a mix of twister fries and fried Sargento cheese curds topped with Sargento cheese sauce and bacon. And Bernie’s Liege Belgian Waffle is a crispy sweet waffle with pearl sugar, drizzled with chocolate sauce on top.

Target Field (Minnesota Twins)
Target Field’s newest menu item might have you asking whether Elvis is in the building. The Peanut Butter and Bacon Sandwich combines jelly-glazed bacon and creamy peanut butter on toasted sourdough bread. The Chicken and Waffle Cone, meanwhile, comes with chicken
tenders and a slab of bacon, drizzled with maple syrup and served in a cone.

SunTrust Park (Atlanta Braves)
The SunTrust Park team created its own version of chicken and waffles. The Chicken and Waffle Boat features mango-Habanero-tossed boneless chicken — served in a warm waffle boat, drizzled with honey and topped with toasted pecans. Additionally, the menu will include Southern Smothered Steak Sandwich (stadium smoked brisket, smothered with peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese sauce served on a toasted hoagie) and the Dinger Dog (a footlong all-beef hot dog, stuffed with cheddar cheese and house-made bacon jam wrapped in golden brown puff pastry.)

Progressive Field (Cleveland Indians)
In Cleveland, The Fat Rooster will wake up guests with a spicy fried chicken breast, marinated in Frank’s Hot Sauce and buttermilk, then dredged in a savory seasoning served on a brioche bun with a vinegar-
based coleslaw, house-made pickle and honey mayo. Another new offering, Short Rib Poutine, features house-made gravy over braised short ribs, served on a bed of wedge fries and diced cheese
curds.
