Saratoga Springs, NY (September 24, 2007) ? Humor with a twist! Saratoga Gaming and Raceway’s comedy series presents a wide variety of comics at Vapor this fall. Ranging from cranky to cool, all are hilarious and all are appearing on Thursdays in Vapor. Bob Wolf, of PYX 106’s “Wakin Up with the Wolf” will host the shows.
Alonzo Bodden opens the comedy series on September 27th. Bodden finished second in season 2 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing and took the grand prize in season 3. From Last Comic Standing to Scary Movie 4, Bodden is addicted to making people laugh! “I love it when they laugh. It’s a beautiful thing. It also means I’m going to get paid, which is nice.”
Comically cranky and extraordinarily funny, Emo Philips arrives at Vapor on October 11. Philips started his stand-up career 5,000 shows ago in the comedy clubs of Chicago before hitting the big time in the mid 80s. Still as irreverent and relevant as ever, he is now the voice of “Dooper” on ABC’s Slacker Cats.
Side-splitting comedian Tommy Davidson entertains on October 18. One of the original members of In Living Color, Davidson is a multi-talented actor, musician, singer and comedian. He has had three Showtime comedy specials and has opened for such major musical stars as Patti LaBelle, Luther Vandross and Kenny G.
On Thursday, November 1, Jim Florentine will perform at Vapor. –From tormenting telemarketers to hidden camera video’s, this professional prankster has audiences rolling in their seats! He is the voice of “Special Ed” on Comedy Central’s hit show "Crank Yankers".
Seating will be cabaret- style, tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show. There will be a 2 drink minimum per person, and doors open at 7pm, with the show starting at 8pm.
