Tenaya paves the way for innovative, earth-friendly road trips with Tesla charging stations

As summer approaches and road trip season gears up, the Delaware North-owned-and-operated Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite is now an ideal basecamp for those traveling eco-friendly, thanks to the recent installation of eight Tesla Supercharger stations.

The Tesla chargers are the fastest in the world, allowing Tesla vehicles to typically recharge in under an hour. Drivers can use the Tesla “Trip Planner” navigation platform to plan for long distance travel and easily locate charging stations along their route.

“Tenaya’s Tesla Superchargers make it possible for owners of the green-minded vehicle to easily experience the splendor of the High Sierra and Yosemite,” said Kathrin Poetter, director of sales and marketing for the resort. “With many of our visitors coming from popular Tesla markets such as the Bay Area and Southern California, we anticipate this being an attractive amenity for our guests.”

While drivers wait for their vehicles to charge, they have convenient access to Tenaya’s amenities, including dining venues, a full-service spa, seasonal outdoor activities and more. And for those who want to spend more time, the resort features newly-renovated mountain luxe guest rooms, suites and cottages.

Traditional Tesla charging stations can also be found at several locations at which Delaware North has business operations, including Holiday Inn West Yellowstone; Gray Wolf Inn & Suites in West Yellowstone, Mont.; The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake in Ohio; The Gideon Putnam in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; and Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida.
