Partnership with golf legend brings even more star power to Delaware North’s travel hospitality business

One of professional golf’s all-time greats, Jack Nicklaus, joined forces with Delaware North to open the first Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear Grill on June 24 at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

The elegant but comfortable restaurant features a wide range of memorabilia, both past and present, to capture the essence of the golf icon’s story. Under the direction of Executive Chef Juan Velez, the menu features recipes from Nicklaus’ wife, Barbara, and the establishment serves products such as Jack Nicklaus Wine, Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear Lemonade by AriZona and Jack Nicklaus Ice Cream.

“The restaurant is a culmination of more than three years of collaboration and development with the Jack goldenbear-3743973Nicklaus group,” said Steve Bass, a regional vice president of Delaware North’s travel hospitality business. “The menu features highlights from the Nicklaus scratch family recipes, including lobster salad, short rib sliders, meatloaf, chicken salad and Mexican shrimp cocktail. In addition to great food, the bar offers specialty cocktails such as The Tin Cup, The Golden Bear Rush and Tee'd Up Transfusion.

“Kudos to everyone who’s been involved in the project and for making it such a successful opening. A big thank-you for a job well done to the Fort Lauderdale team,” Bass added.

Nicklaus is the latest star-studded addition to a Delaware North travel hospitality portfolio that includes partnerships with entertainer/entrepreneur Jay Z and celebrity chef Masaharu Morimoto.
