Charlie Jacobs (pictured far right in the top photo), CEO of Delaware North’s Boston Holdings, was part of an industry-leading panel discussion Thursday at SportsBusiness Journal’s annual World Congress of Sports in Los Angeles.
“Passing fandom to the next generation is central to the fabric of the Bruins,” Jacobs said in the discussion, which was focused on millennials and the sports industry.
Jacobs’ participation in the panel discussion was hardly the company’s lone presence, though, as Delaware North gave attendees – sports industry executives from all corners of the world – a literal taste of its culinary prowess.
Delaware North Sportservice sponsored the event’s opening reception, with a star-studded cast of company chefs. Among those on-hand were Executive Sous Chef Camilo Baquero from MetLife Stadium; Heath Barbato, executive chef at Lambeau Field; Alec Lester and Rosie Gyulasaryan of Patina Catering; and Adolfo Calles, executive chef at Los Angeles International Airport, along with several members of his team: Salvador Barron, Jesus Mejias, Isabel Bernal, Jaime Encino, Vilma Guevara, Angel Rodriguez, Miguel Alvarez and Rene Gonzalez. 
In typical Delaware North fashion, the food received rave reviews. In its World Congress wrap-up piece, SportsBusiness Daily applauded Delaware North in a section of the story titled “Worst decision at World Congress.” But don’t let that subhead fool you.
“Worst decision at World Congress: The one made by any attendee who left before sampling Delaware North’s tasty reception spread at the end of Day 1,” the article said. “Included on the menu: Taco foie gras that had people raving, rack of lamb, ahi tuna tartar and lobster medallions with caviar. Overheard: ‘Delaware North is catering my wedding!’”
