Delaware North wins big at Adelaide Airport retail awards

A pair of Delaware North-operated restaurants took home some new hardware at last week’s Adelaide (Australia) Airport Retailer of the Year Awards. The awards recognize airport retailers that achieved outstanding sales and customer service results.

For the second consecutive year, 1862 Bar – a lounge-style alehouse – took top honors in the Food & adelaide360-7346019Beverage category. It was followed by runner-up Billie Chu, an Asian-inspired restaurant also operated by Delaware North.

A proud team of Delaware North associates – including General Manager Lucky Logothetis – accepted the awards at a special ceremony held Aug. 19 at the Adelaide Festival Centre.

“At a time when Adelaide Airport is undergoing major expansion and we are redefining our retail food and beverage offering, this is a truly exciting outcome,” said Judith Meadows, a communications and marketing manager.

The airport is Australia’s fourth-largest, serving 8 million passengers annually.
