Murray’s Steak Sandwich Leads Off Culinary Lineup at Target Field

Twins, Sportservice bringing locally inspired dishes to new ballpark

MINNEAPOLIS – ST. PAUL, Minn. – Murray’s, the iconic steakhouse since 1946, is providing the inspiration for one of the signature menu items at Target Field – marking a new era for Twins fans and the food they’ll experience at the new ballpark.

A version of the well-known Murray’s steak sandwich will be served at multiple Mill City Grill concession locations throughout the ballpark. The Murray’s steak sandwich at Target Field will be made with choice sirloin steak, provolone cheese and served on a fresh ciabatta roll from Minneapolis’s Franklin Street Bakery.

Murray’s owner, Pat Murray, and the restaurant’s chef worked closely with the Twins and their food service partner Delaware North Sportservice on the sandwich concept in their kitchen to get it just right for its debut at Target Field.

“As one of the longest-running restaurants in downtown Minneapolis, Murray’s is proud to partner with our hometown team and downtown neighbor,” said Pat Murray, owner of Murray’s. “We’re excited that the Murray’s-inspired steak sandwich will be enjoyed by Twins fans at Target Field for years to come.”

The Twins and Delaware North Sportservice will introduce a wide variety of classic ballpark fare and exciting new signature items inspired by local restaurants, Twins greats and regional ingredients in the months leading up to Opening Day.

“Going to a game at Target Field will be about more than baseball – it will be about great food and a great fan experience,” said Dave St. Peter, Twins President. “We’re proud to begin announcing some of the great food options with iconic Minneapolis staples like Murray’s and Franklin Street Bakery.”

“We’re very fortunate to be able to draw on such a rich and diverse local food community in designing our menus,” said Pete Spike, Delaware North Sportservice general manger at Target Field. “We’re finding inspiration just steps away from home plate and all throughout Twins Territory to keep our menus fresh, local and tasting great.”
