Delaware North Companies Secures Go-Ahead on New Food and Beverage Concession Contract
LOS ANGELES (October 20, 2010)Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services, one of the world’s leading airport food and retail providers, announced that it was awarded a coveted food and beverage concession contract to operate concepts by celebrity chefs Masaharu Morimoto and Wolfgang Puck at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The concepts—proposed as part of a joint venture with partner Marbella Food Services—were approved by the Los Angeles City Council today.

Skewers is the new restaurant concept by Food Network Iron Chef Morimoto slated for Terminal 5, which will feature yakitori-style meals—a popular street and bar food in Japan that consists of skewered grilled meats with vegetables, served with rice bowls. The menu will include a selection of soups and salads and is intended to offer dishes that are convenient, tasty and healthy. Delaware North will also be introducing the popular Wolfgang Puck Express to Terminal 7, a familiar yet highly successful concept that features Puck’s most popular dishes in a contemporary, fast-casual setting with affordable prices. Both restaurants are expected to open sometime mid to late 2011.

In addition to the soon-to-open Skewers and Wolfgang Puck Express, Delaware North also operates the recently opened Pink’s Hot Dogs LAX and the Daily Grill Restaurant, both in the Tom Bradley International Terminal, as well as The Encounter Restaurant & Bar, located inside the landmark LAX Theme Building.
