The Milwaukee Brewers and Delaware North Companies Sportservice are introducing a number of more affordable food, beverage and retail options for Brewers fans this season at Miller Park.
A new discount concession stand will open on the terrace level, offering smaller versions of three popular ballpark items in a $3 bundle. Fans will be able to buy a hot dog, soda and bag of peanuts for the equivalent of $1 per item.
Sportservice and the Brewers are also introducing Value Meals that will enable fans to purchase specific menu items bundled together at a $2 discount. Two of the meals – fries, soda and either a hot dog or bratwurst – will cost $9.75 and $10, respectively. Also, a Slider Plate with bratwurst and hot dog sliders is available for $9.
Sportservice and the Brewers are selling 10 concessions items for 25 cents less than they did in  2008, including chicken tenders (reduced to $5.50), corn dogs (reduced to $2.75), soft-serve ice cream (reduced to $3.50), and deli wraps (reduced to $5.75).
Among the other new features the Brewers and Sportservice are bringing to Miller Park this season:
  • Executive Chef Pastor Jimenez has developed a new menu for the Metavante Club that will offer new items such as an Italian Panini, a Bistro Steak Sandwich, Grilled Shrimp Cobb Salad, and Hot and Spicy Calamari.
  • Numerous items have been added to the ballpark’s suite menus, including Home Plate Pasta with Chicken, Coconut Shrimp, Roasted Chicken and Poblano Dip, and B.B.Q. Pork Sliders.
  • A new bar for smokers, dubbed the Left Field Loge Bar because of its location, has been opened.
  • Last year’s popular Sauza Margarita carts will be back, with two added to accommodate the fans. Also, three Bloody Mary carts have been added.
  • Returning after a successful debut last season are Kettlebrau cheese curds deep fried with Leinenkugle beer batter.
  • As part of an overall environmental initiative at the ballpark, suite menus will now be provided in a computer flash-drive format to eliminate the need for paper menus.
A year ago, Miller Park topped Sports Illustrated magazine’s fan poll as the highest rated Major League ballpark for food. The bratwurst topped with Sportservice’s own Secret Stadium Sauce, a fan favorite that was born 30 years ago at Milwaukee County Stadium, topped the list.
“We’re very serious about staying current with culinary trends and continually connecting with our customers,” Sportservice President Rick Abramson said.
Sportservice also worked with the team to renovate the Brewers Team Store by Majestic, which opened March 27. The team was honored last year by Major League Baseball as Club Retailer of the Year.
The new store offers Brew Crew Value Packs made up of a Brewers hat and T-shirt for $22, while the Novelty Combo comes with a Brewers pin, decal, pennant, key chain and bumper sticker for $10. There will be 30 percent more retail items costing $20 or less than they did last season.
