COSMIC QUEST DESCRIPTION:
Calling the next generation of space explorers! Introducing Cosmic Quest – the only gameplay experience in the galaxy featuring real NASA missions. Launch a rocket, redirect an asteroid, build a Martian habitat and meet Robonaut!

Cosmic Quest is an experience designed to engage and educate guests about NASA’s current and future space science and exploration endeavors, with an emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs to inspire the next generation of space explorers. Using a custom Cosmic Quest badge (activation device), guests embark on five NASA-inspired adventures based on actual NASA science and missions of the future. Guests will be inspired as they become space experts and learn what it takes to work for NASA.

Robonaut, a replicat of NASA’s real R2 robot currently working aboard the International Space Station, is the robot host, leading the way through each adventure using advanced technology as guests launch a rocket beyond Earth’s orbit; perform life-science experiments just like astronauts do on the International Space Station; redirect an asteroid to orbit the Earth’s moon and design and build a habitat on Mars.

FIVE NASA-INSPIRED ADVENTURES AT FOUR LOCATIONS:
NASA’s Next Rocket Launch Adventure
Located at the Apollo/Saturn V Center
The goal of this adventure is to assemble a launch team to send NASA’s next rocket to Mars. The guest, or trainee, is introduced to the roles of key space experts, including environmental engineers, biologists, computers scientists and other experts. The trainee operates in “mission control,” and encounters and solves issues leading up to launch. As the rocket lifts off the pad, trainees are completely engulfed by the sensations of launch with powerful vibrations and steam.

Asteroid Capture Adventure
Located in IMAX® Theater
During this adventure, the trainee is challenged with the specialized systems needed to capture and redirect an asteroid. They command a robotic spacecraft and overcome challenges in deep space on a mission to capture an asteroid. This incredible encounter takes place in front of a massive half-dome screen, which completely immerses the player in “outer space” as they redirect the asteroid into the orbit of Earth’s moon.

Mars Habitat Adventures-Exploration Base and Permanent Habitat
Located in Journey To Mars: Explorers Wanted
Comprised of two adventures in one location, trainees have the option of building a research exploration base or a permanent habitat on Mars. During these adventures, trainees learn about complications of living on the surface of Mars, and the components needed to sustain human life. Trainees must design a habitat that can not only protect their astronauts from the poisonous dust and radiation on Mars, but also keep them physically and mentally fit! Trainees see their habitat displayed as a 3D holograph while using a high-definition touch screen to assemble all the parts of the habitat. Once they’ve built a habitat that can support and protect humans, they’ll receive an electronic version to keep and share on social media.

International Space Station Research Adventures
Located in Space Shuttle AtlantisSM
Trainees perform life-science experiments during this adventure and discover what astronauts are doing on the International Space Station right now! Using large, interactive touch screens, trainees solve issues such as countering the negative effects of microgravity on the human body, and creating an efficient greenhouse to grow potatoes or lettuce using methods such as aeroponics. While performing the experiments, trainees find out how space research will not only prepare humans for life on Mars, but also how it improves medicine, farming and technology here on Earth.

Please note: The completion of one adventure is not dependent on the other adventures. All adventures are included in the price.
