Cave of the Winds, Maid of the Mist and the Legendary Falls Thrill Guests of All Ages
Niagara Falls & Buffalo, NY – July 2010 – Along with summer’s warmer, longer days and clear blue skies comes the opportunity to experience Niagara Falls State Park in all her glory. Be a part of history with us as July 15, 2010 marks Niagara Falls State Park’s 125th Anniversary! With attractions open for the season, including Cave of the Winds, Maid of the Mist and the Niagara Gorge Discover Center, now is the perfect time to discover the power of the park’s legendary Falls.

For a day of excitement, education and inspiration, Niagara Falls State Park offers a wide range of activities for people of all ages. Just a few of the most popular Niagara Falls attractions include:
  • Cave of the Winds. Get closer to the waters of Niagara than you ever thought possible. This one-of-a-kind experience takes guests 175 feet down into the Niagara Gorge. Then, clad in souvenir rain ponchos and sandals, visitors follow guides over wooden walkways to Hurricane Deck, where they’ll find themselves less than 20 feet from the torrents of Bridal Veil Falls.

  • Niagara Gorge Discovery Center. Showcasing the history of Niagara Falls, the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center offers visitors a hands-on learning experience. Here, they can take a virtual elevator trip into the gorge, experience 12,000 years of the Niagara River in the 180-degree multi-screen theater, or climb a 26-foot rock wall that resembles the walls of the gorge.

  • Maid of the Mist. For more than 150 years, the Maid of the Mist has taken visitors through the foaming waters beneath the falls. The journey begins at the bottom of the Observation Tower where visitors board the Maid of the Mist and travel to the base of the American Falls then on to the basin of Horseshoe Falls, where the boat traverses crashing waters and massive rock formations.

For guests who want to experience all of these Niagara Falls attractions and more, the park offers the Niagara USA Discovery Pass, which includes admission to Cave of the Winds, the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center, Maid of the Mist, Niagara: Legends of Adventure Movie and the Niagara Aquarium.
