BUFFALO, N.Y. (April 9, 2007) -- Delaware North Companies Sportservice Chef Matthew Auck, who works for the Cleveland Indians, recently earned the prestigious distinction of certified executive chef from the American Culinary Federation.

The American Culinary Federation hierarchy ranks certified executive chef as the second-highest level for cooking professionals, behind the rare certified master chef, of which there are only 61 in the United States.

The certification process requires chefs to have extensive work and educational experiences and pass rigorous exams. Auck has handled all of these challenges. In fact, he has flourished as the executive chef of the Cleveland Indians since 1994. He has had the honor of cooking for former President George Bush and former President Bill Clinton and current President George W. Bush. He's also contributed his culinary talents to such high-profile events as the 2006 World Series, 2002 Super Bowl and 1999 and 2002 NCAA Men's Final Four.

"Certification at this level demonstrates the talent of our chefs and the commitment of Delaware North to culinary excellence," said Sportservice Corporate Chef Rolf Baumann. "Chef Auck is extremely talented in the culinary field and very deserving of this honor."
